The Americas Infrastructure Funds Reporter will play a critical role within the IJGlobal team, driving a dynamic and fast-paced news beat. The successful candidate will take charge of covering the rapidly growing energy and infrastructure funds market across the Americas, tracking limited partners, general partners, fundraising, and investor allocations.
As a journalist for IJGlobal you will be expected to write business news articles with tight, rolling deadlines throughout the day, building a strong network of high-level industry contacts through regular communication (including investors, fund managers, bankers, lawyers, and placement agents). IJGlobal has an established presence in the region, with a constantly evolving network of contacts.
This news beat covers some of the most active infrastructure and energy-focused investment managers, financed by major institutional investors, with significant global impact.
Beyond daily news reporting, the journalist will also produce insightful analysis and contribute to case studies, while supporting the data team as needed.
Responsibilities
- Pitching and writing exclusive news stories daily
- Using IJGlobal’s data to enhance coverage of the infrastructure funds market
- Maintaining broad and high-level contact with the market through daily telephone calls and frequent face-to-face/virtual meetings
- Collaborating with other team members and other functions
Requirements
- Excellent written English
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience as a financial journalist preferred
- Strong reporting and interviewing skills
- Infrastructure or investment management knowledge/experience would be advantageous but is not a necessity
- Able to network well and build a strong book of contacts
- Willing to make cold calls
- Efficient, organised and able to meet deadlines
- Team player
- Strong communicator
- Able to work well under pressure
- Authorization to work in the United States now and in the future, without visa or sponsorship requirements
