RAN Engineer (Radio Access Network)
Location: Philadelphia, PA and Dallas, TX
Realtime Recruitment are looking for Radio Access Network (RAN) Engineers, who will play a key role in designing, optimizing, and maintaining high-performance mobile networks.
What You’ll Do:
- Network Design & Optimization – Ensure seamless performance and efficiency across 4G/5G RAN environments.
- Integration & Deployment – Work with cross-functional teams to roll out and configure new network solutions.
- Performance Analysis – Monitor key network KPIs and troubleshoot issues to enhance coverage and capacity.
- Automation & Scripting – Improve network efficiency through automation tools and scripting (Python, Shell, etc.).
- Collaboration – Work closely with vendors, operators, and internal teams to deliver best-in-class solutions.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: 3+ years in RAN engineering, with hands-on expertise in 4G/LTE, 5G, or Open RAN technologies.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of RF planning, network optimization, and troubleshooting tools, Scripting languages (Shell, Python), and as a plus embedded programming (C/C++).
- Tools & Protocols: Knowledge of OSS, KPIs, drive test tools (e.g., TEMS, Nemo), and protocols like VoLTE, NR, and LTE.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze network performance issues and propose innovative solutions.
- Industry Experience: Background in working with telecom vendors (Nokia, Ericsson, Huawei) or mobile operators.
- Bonus: Familiarity with cloud-based RAN solutions and virtualization (vRAN, OpenRAN).
