Base pay range $117,000.00/yr - $195,000.00/yr You are energetic, collaborative, have strong communication and attention to detail. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, are curious, have the vision to develop creatives and help build the brand aesthetic. You are a prolific designer with a strong fashion sense, trend awareness, and industry knowledge of footwear. You balance creativity and conceptual thinking with excellent organizational skills. You work cross-functionally with PD and Merchandising teams to fully develop a compelling collection. What You’ll Do:

Understand the Michael Kors aesthetic and translate it into appropriate product. Manage a team; provide guidance and nurture talent. Partner alongside the VP of Design for entire product design process including market and material research, inspiration board creation, designing styles and shoe constructions, and detailing the collection. Create Technical Spec Packages for factories from initial lead constructions and fittings to market sample reviews. Provides recommendations regarding seasonal themes, edits to line, new concepts, trends, material novelties and logo treatments evolution. Provides insight regarding style of product during presentation. Ensures that product is consistent with market trends as well as business strategy; interprets international/domestic concepts and fashion trends as it relates to market demands, company image and business strategy. Participate with team members on hardware conception and material research. Detail and cad for market samples. Partners with handbag designers to achieve consistency in product. Meets independently with vendors. Identifies opportunities for process improvement. You’ll Need to Have:

10+ years of experience in footwear design with proven abilities with an understanding of luxury and contemporary markets. Bachelor's degree in Design or Design related field. Must have strong understanding of footwear construction and terminology. Previous experience of managing at least 1 direct report. Experienced in traveling to Asia. Strong Photoshop and Illustrator skills. Strong material and color sense. Strong taste level and interest in current trends. Must be a team player with a positive attitude, who is able to thrive and take initiative in a fast-paced work environment. We’d Love to See:

Ability to sketch both technical drawings and freeform sketches and renderings. Experience in developing product directly with factories; understanding development from concept through manufacturing. Experience in working with cross-functional teams. Strong leadership skills. Excellent organizational, time management, communication and presentation skills.
