Position Overview:

Within the Office of Information Technology (OIT), we are seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to develop and deliver effective training materials and programs for our User Support organization, including our technology help desk. This is a new position within User Support that will own and lead content creation from the ground up. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and experience creating engaging and interactive learning experiences. Responsibilities: Needs Assessment: Conduct thorough needs assessments to identify knowledge and skill gaps within the User Support organization. Curriculum Development: Design and develop comprehensive training curricula, including course outlines, modules, lesson plans, presentations, interactive activities, and assessments. Content Creation: Create engaging and informative training content that is relevant to the needs of the User Support team, including canvas course modules, technical documentation, user guides, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge base articles. Delivery Methods: Deliver training programs through various modalities, such as instructor-led training (ILT), virtual instructor-led training (VILT), e-learning modules, webinars, and self-paced online courses. Evaluation and Improvement: Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through surveys, assessments, and feedback from participants. Use data-driven insights to improve and update training materials and delivery methods. Collaboration: Partner with User Support managers, technical subject matter experts, service owners and other stakeholders to ensure training materials are accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with organizational goals. Stay Current: Remain informed about emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in instructional design and user support training. Qualifications
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and four years of experience in training facilitation/instructional design OR master’s degree plus two years of experience in training facilitation/instructional design. Experience with adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies (such as ADDIE, SAM, etc.). Experience with e-learning authoring tools (such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, etc.) and learning management systems (LMS). Preferred Qualifications: Instructional design experience focused on technology training or user support. Familiarity with customer service and user support principles. Certifications in instructional design or training delivery (e.g., CPLP, CPTM). Pay and Benefits
Pay Range:
