We are currently seeking a talented individual to become an Audio/Video Manager. An individual could be successful if they possess the following:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Audio Visual Manager position will be responsible for managing the day-to-day overall AV operations, scheduling, forecasting and service objectives. Direct set up, or set up and operate audio and video equipment including microphones, sound speakers, video screens, projectors, video monitors, recording equipment, connecting wires and cables, sound and mixing boards, and related electronic equipment for concerts, events, meetings and conventions, presentations, and conferences. May also set up and operate associated spotlights and other custom lighting systems. The following and other duties may be assigned as necessary:
- Responsible for service/support calls, troubleshooting in the most efficient and effective manner to assure timely completion and maximum performance.
- All installations/service calls must meet the highest quality standards set forth while assuming a professional environment on site by self and installation teams.
- Configure DSP settings, troubleshooting and testing.
- Pre-installation site survey when needed.
- Post project walk-through with client, hand off to service.
- Client training and system overview.
- Understand, perform and quality check rigging/mounting of equipment and displays.
- Test, quality control and help train on the installation of structured cabling to include but not limited to pulling, terminating and testing all AV/network category cables, HDMI, control and audio cables.
- Identify and solve issues that will impact the service call or projects.
- Work to ensure service deliverables and milestones are met including close out documentation and punch list items.
- The ability to perform system level diagnostics, troubleshoot and report issues to Service Coordinator.
- Responsible for returning RMA/DOA product to warehouse in a timely fashion complete and undamaged.
- Follow all safety guidelines of Oaklawn and client requirements.
- Leadership capacity in training and mentoring all technical staff to perform all deliverables.
- Ensures that expectations and objectives are clearly communicated to subordinates; subordinates are also open to raise questions and/or concerns.
- Informs and/or updates the executive team, peers and subordinates on relevant information in a timely manner.
- Communicates with various external vendors, processes invoices and communicates directly with accounts payable.
- Creates and maintains relationships with sponsors and vendors.
- Evaluates and adapts the organizational units, jobs and processes to best fit business needs and/or support the goals of the business.
- Follows Purchasing/PO policies and procedures.

- Regular punctual attendance.
- Ability to work required overtime.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. - Minimum high school diploma or GED.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in electronics, computer science, AV technology or technology.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience programming, configuring AV components in commercial and/or residential environment. Control system, networking and DSP experience required. A valid qualification, to operate hand, mechanical, power tools.
- Must have a minimum of 2-4 years’ experience troubleshooting, completing and technical installation of audiovisual systems, including equipment rack fabrication, site preparation, termination and calibration of audio and video equipment, and implementation of control systems.
- Infocomm CTS, CTS-I, CTS-D or Cedia ESC, ESC-T, ESC-N, ESC-D. Additional Certifications by manufacturer or product a plus.
- Experience leading and supporting AV projects a plus.
- Candidates without certifications will be required to obtain certifications in an agreed upon timeframe/goals set.
- Additional experience may be required in place of certifications. Technical knowledge and proficiency in basic MS office applications, including MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- *Crestron, Savant, Control4 or similar programming experience is a plus.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job does have supervisory responsibilities.
- Manages work procedures and expedites workflow.
- Provides coaching and counseling to team members.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and have acceptable driving history as determined by Oaklawn Jockey Club.
