The Communication, Enrollment & Development position at Mount Sacred Heart Catholic School is crucial in developing and maintaining effective communication channels within the school community and nurturing relationships with the school's alumni network. This position requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of marketing and public relations, and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, including current students, parents, staff, and alumni.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy for Mount Sacred Heart Catholic School.
  • Create and distribute newsletters, press releases, and other written materials to inform and engage the school community.
  • Manage the school's social media accounts and website, ensuring up-to-date and relevant content.
  • Coordinate and promote school events, such as open houses, fundraisers, and community outreach programs.
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather information and generate content for communication materials.

Alumni Relations:

  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with the school's alumni network.
  • Develop strategies to engage alumni in the school community through events, mentorship programs, and volunteer opportunities.
  • Coordinate alumni reunions and other special events to foster connections among alumni.
  • Collect and update alumni contact information and ensure accurate alumni database management.
  • Develop and implement fundraising initiatives targeting alumni, collaborating with the school's development team.

Marketing and Public Relations:

  • Develop and execute marketing campaigns to promote the school's achievements, programs, and events.
  • Liaise with local media outlets to publicize school news and events.
  • Monitor media coverage of the school and respond to inquiries or requests for information.
  • Collaborate with the admissions team to develop marketing materials and strategies to attract prospective students and families.
  • Support the development and implementation of the school's branding guidelines.

Relationship Building:

  • Foster strong relationships with parents, students, staff, and external stakeholders to promote a positive school culture.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to gather success stories, student achievements, and noteworthy events for communication purposes.
  • Serve as a point of contact for inquiries and concerns from parents, students, and alumni.
  • Actively participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in communication and alumni relations.
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field (a combination of relevant education and experience will also be considered).
  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in an educational or nonprofit setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to different audiences.
  • Proficiency in social media platforms, content management systems, and design software.
  • Knowledge of marketing principles and strategies, including digital marketing techniques.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Creativity and the ability to think strategically to promote the school's mission and values.
  • Familiarity with Catholic education and understanding the unique needs of faith-based educational institutions is preferred.
