Job Description
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Assistant / Associate Professor of Film Production – Directing, UNLV Film [R0145079].
ROLE of the POSITION
This is a nine-month, full-time, tenure-track position in the Department of Film that involves teaching and academic service at the undergraduate and/or graduate level while maintaining a strong and ongoing record of creative achievement and/or scholarship. We seek a highly accomplished director of narrative fiction for the screen with a passion for visual storytelling and a deep understanding of the artistic and technical aspects of filmmaking. A successful candidate must have substantial professional credits as a director of feature films and/or television pilots or limited series and be able to employ a range of techniques to teach the art and craft of directing to student filmmakers.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
This position requires a terminal degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or equivalent professional experience with a significant body of credits. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
This position requires a terminal degree from an accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or equivalent professional experience with a major body of credits signifying national and/or international recognition. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.
