Job Description
The Social Media Specialist plays a vital role in supporting our corporate social media strategy. You will work as part of the social media team to assist in the development and execution of social media initiatives that enhance the company's online presence, engage target audiences and drive business growth. Your primary focus will be contributing to the success of our campaigns by building creative social content, supporting and implementing our social media strategy and tactics, and reviewing post requests to ensure compliance with our corporate social media policy.
How You'll Spend Your Time
- You will collaborate with the social media manager and strategist to execute the corporate social media strategy.
- You will create, edit, and schedule content to positively position the company across social platforms.
- You will work with internal associates to optimize their social media presence and provide guidance on best practices.
- You will monitor the employee advocacy program and escalate non-compliant requests for review.
- You will use software to monitor social media activity and assist with reporting and analysis.
Education & Experience Requirements
This level of knowledge is normally acquired through a completion of a bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, communications or a related field of study and a minimum of 1-3 years of experience working in social media management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with financial services or project management preferred.
- Strong writing and editing skills. Ability to summarize content effectively, create original copy from scratch and edit existing content to optimize it for social media platforms.
- Proficiency with social media platforms for business use (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter or TikTok).
- Demonstrates a strong enthusiasm for diving into social media analytics, extracting meaningful insights, and using data-driven findings to inform and refine social media strategies. Capable of optimizing online presence through data-driven decision-making.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple high-urgency projects while ensuring high-quality, detailed work and compliance with brand standards.
- Strong team player who works collaboratively with a proactive and can-do approach to opportunities and challenges.
- Willingness to learn and flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and deadlines.
- A passion for social media, digital marketing and staying current with industry trends.
- Basic experience with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite).
- Graphic design skills are a plus.
- Employee advocacy experience is a plus.
