General Statement Of Duties:

Provides professional Realtime reporting and transcribing for court proceedings, hearings, and conferences. Employees in this classification have obtained their Registered Professional Reporter (RPR) certification through the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA) and have a completion of at least 94% accuracy (the Colorado standard) on one of the following examinations: Certified Realtime Reporter (CRR), Certified Broadcast Captioner (CBC), Certified CART Provider (CCP) through the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA); or the Federal Certified Realtime Reporter (FCRR).

Essential Functions:

  1. Provides real time, verbatim court reporting services through stenographic shorthand for jury trials, preliminary hearings, motions hearings, and any applicable requested court proceedings.
  2. Manages and maintains records and prioritizes transcript production. Prepares required reports and documentation pursuant to Chief Justice Directive 05-03 and local policies and procedures.
  3. Ensures backup of all stenographic notes, rough drafts, and completed transcripts including reporter dictionaries, CAT software files, and stenographic machine files.
  4. Assists team members, works on various hearings and/or trials as a team, shares files and work product, and attends weekly meetings.
  5. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

Associate's degree or 2 years of college.

OR

Additional work experience in these or other related fields may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required formal education.
