About the Role:

As a Technical Writer, you will oversee the creation, maintenance, and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure efficient and consistent operations within the pharmacy. You will collaborate closely with pharmacy leadership, cross-functional teams, and subject matter experts to develop SOPs that align with industry best practices and regulatory standards. This role reports to the Pharmacist-in-Charge.

Location and Shift:

This position is located in Gilbert, AZ. You must work onsite Monday-Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm PST.

You Will:

  • Work closely with technical and non-technical teams to document detailed procedures for various pharmacy projects, processes, and tasks.

  • Create, review, and update SOPs to reflect current processes, technological advancements, and industry trends on a need basis.

  • Maintain complete ownership of SOP versioning – ensuring outdated SOPs are updated and signed off by the PIC and other stakeholders in a timely manner.

  • Ensure that SOPs are accurate, clear, and aligned with the pharmacy organization standards and values.

  • Establish and organize a document review, draft, and implementation process.

  • Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, productivity, and overall quality of services.

  • Ensure that all stakeholders have access to the most up-to-date SOPs.

  • Conduct regular audits to assess the effectiveness and compliance of SOPs.

  • Collaborate with training teams to develop training materials and resources based on SOPs.

  • Maintain and communicate a training schedule for all pharmacy employees to ensure all remain educated on new and existing procedures.

  • Communicate changes in SOPs to relevant stakeholders, ensuring a smooth transition and understanding of updated procedures.

  • Function as a member of a regulatory response team providing copies of all requested documents.

  • Collect feedback from various teams and stakeholders to identify areas for improvement in existing SOPs.

You Have:

  • 3-5 years of experience in process documentation and SOP development, preferably in a pharmacy environment.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders.

  • Attention to detail and the ability to synthesize complex information into clear and concise procedures.

  • Familiarity with document management systems and tools.

  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulations relevant to pharmacy will be helpful.

Conditions of Employment:

  • This position will require working with Hazardous Drugs (HD) and requires that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) be worn.

  • This position requires medical approval to wear respiratory protection.

  • Physical exertion required. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Associates must be willing to confirm understanding of the potential risks of handling hazardous drugs.
