Network Operations Supervisor EMPLOYMENT BEGINS: As soon as possible PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Responsible for all aspects of the District's telecommunications systems and services. Make certain systems are operating properly by managing system software, managing updates, making repairs and performing preventative maintenance task. QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Certification:
High School Diploma Convergence Technologies Professional (CTP), preferred Valid Texas driver's license Special Knowledge/Skills:
Knowledge in basic networking principals as applied to telecommunications Knowledge in Enhanced 911 system and processes Competent in troubleshooting enterprise level telecommunication systems Must be highly organized, detailed oriented Possess effective communication skills Able to proficiently use Microsoft Office software suite Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in enterprise level telecommunications systems Minimum 5 years of experience with VOIP systems MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Manage and maintain the District's telecommunications system servers, software and hardware
Keeping all software, firmware and patches up-to-date so as to maximize system uptime and to keep the telecommunications system secure Manage system backup's for all telecommunication systems Perform all programming changes (moves, adds & deletes) on the telecommunication system Perform all programming changes on the District's voicemail system Work with department manager and department director to evaluate and select service providers. Assist with evaluating and selecting service types that best meet the District's telecommunication needs Perform all steps required to maintain up to date knowledge and proficiency on the District's telecommunications systems. Includes research, self-study, webinars, classes and other training Service equipment according to established preventive maintenance schedule Perform other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ability to work in high-pressure environment while maintaining high degree of professionalism Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed Able to solve complex problems with tight deadlines Communicating well in both oral and written form, complying with time lines, Physical demands/environmental factors:
Reaching with hands and arms and frequently repeating the same hand, arm or finger motion. Prolonged sitting and walking; twisting, reaching, pushing/pulling; overhead reaching Occasional lifting and /or moving of up to 50 lbs. Seeing close work such as typed or handwritten material Work on-call and after hours
