Overview
The Motion Designer has a gift for storytelling and a passion for creating, crafting, and editing video and animation content. They produce video and animated content for our organization that aligns with each brand’s specific mission and goals. As the visual storyteller for the company, the Motion Designer is responsible for storyboarding, character rigging, animating, editing, and managing creative assets to produce full-fledged, engaging videos that delight and surprise.
Responsibilities
- Execute department/team initiatives that support client goals and have measurable outcomes (approximately 32 billable hours per week).
- Produce a variety of video types, including animated, stop-motion, time-lapse instructional videos, how-tos, sizzle reels, and more.
- Produce videos for a wide range of tactics, including paid ads, websites, emails, organic social, and more.
- Design and implement character rigging for animated content to ensure fluid, natural movement.
- Create compelling motion graphics and animated elements to enhance video storytelling.
- Sketch, storyboard, mockups, design assets, music, and other creative elements.
- Engage creative colleagues to brainstorm and concept ideas; present ideas to internal client teams for further ideation and development.
- Stay up-to-date with technological advances within video and animation production.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Audition, Photoshop and Illustrator).
- Proficiency in 3D animation software (e.g., Cinema 4D)
- Ability to develop smooth transitions, kinetic typography, VFX, and engaging visual effects
- Experience or strong desire to learn Adobe Character Animator and Adobe Animate for character animation.
- Ability to manage time, schedules, budgets, and work within a project management software (e.g., Asana)
- Prior experience working directly with clients
Nice-to-Haves
- Basic video production/post-production skills
- Product photography experience
- Expertise in operating cameras, sound, lighting
- Transport, set up, and operate various production equipment, including cameras, audio and video recorders, lighting equipment, props, and microphones for location and studio production.
- Be comfortable collecting b-roll footage and interviewing talent and/or clients
