The Linda Sokol Francis Brookfield Library, serving a community of nearly 20,000 and home to the world famous Brookfield Zoo, seeks a dynamic Youth Services Manager. The Youth Services Manager is charged with leading the department's collections, educational initiatives, and managing a staff of five. Candidates must be highly flexible, innovative and collaborative, possess excellent technological and communication skills, and be passionate about serving children.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Cultivate all aspects of the Youth Services Department including its service desk and schedules.
2. Develop and oversee the department's classes and events for youth of all ages.
3. Track the Youth Services department budget.
4. Manage the department's print and digital collections.
5. Supervise and hire Youth Services staff members.
6. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Master's degree in library science (completed or in progress) and experience managing Youth Services initiatives. The ability to establish rapport with community members and colleagues is essential. Supervisory experience preferred; Spanish a plus.
