Job Summary:
We are seeking an organized and customer-focused Service Writer to join our dynamic team. The Service Writer will be the primary point of contact for customers seeking service and repair for their powersports vehicles. This role involves interacting with customers, documenting service requests, communicating with the service department, and ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for the powersports industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner, addressing their service needs and inquiries.
Write accurate and complete service orders, including customer concerns, vehicle details, and requested repairs.
Liaise between customers and technicians to ensure timely and accurate communication regarding service status, recommendations, and costs.
Process warranties with the brands Rocky Mountain ATV carries.
Provide customers with estimates for repairs and services, clearly explaining the work required and any additional costs.
Schedule service appointments and follow up with customers to confirm appointments and ensure timely service.
Maintain a detailed record of customer interactions, service orders, and repair history.
Assist in managing the workflow of the service department, ensuring that work orders are processed efficiently and deadlines are met.
Communicate with parts department to ensure required parts are available for repairs.
Follow up with customers after service is completed to ensure satisfaction and gather feedback.
Maintain a clean and organized service area and ensure that all safety and compliance regulations are followed.
Handle customer concerns or complaints professionally and escalate when necessary.
Stay updated on product knowledge and service offerings to accurately assist customers.
Assist with loading and unloading machines when necessary.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in automotive or powersports service is a plus.
Previous experience as a Service Writer, Service Advisor, or in a customer-facing role in the automotive or powersports industry is preferred.
Strong knowledge of powersports vehicles (motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, etc.) is highly desirable.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and foster long-term relationships with clients.
Basic computer proficiency (MS Office, service management software, etc.).
Ability to work well with team members and contribute to a positive work environment.
Valid driver's license; ability to operate and drive powersports vehicles is a plus.
Working Conditions:
Full-time position, with flexible hours including evenings and weekends as required.
The role requires standing, walking, and occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
Fast-paced environment with regular interaction with customers and service technicians.
Physical Requirements:
Position performance will require the regular physical ability to walk and function in elevation changes by the means of self-propulsion, to include steps, ladders, and varied walking and working surfaces. Ability to negotiate warehouse work areas in a safe manner and behavior. Vision abilities specific to the position will include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. Performing in this role will require the use of hands to use and handle tools, objects, materials, and controls. Performance requires the frequent ability to sit, talk, hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employee will need to be able to read, write, and understand basics of the English language. Employee may have to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and up to 45 pounds assisted or if capable.
