Your Role:
As an Elementary Visual Arts Teacher, you will have the opportunity to:
- Ignite a passion for visual arts by developing and delivering engaging, standards-based instruction that fosters creativity, artistic skills, and an appreciation for art.
- Cultivate a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued, supported, and inspired to explore their artistic potential.
- Guide students in developing essential visual art skills, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and various other art forms and techniques.
- Develop lesson plans in collaboration with site and grade level teams, addressing the diverse educational needs of all students in grades K-6.
- Model instruction, integrating core content areas with visual arts.
- Provide instructional support and training to teachers and administrators, integrating arts within the classroom and content areas.
- Collaborate with teachers and site leadership to develop strategies and support services that provide for seamless district-wide transitions.
- Meet with the District Visual and Performing Arts team and Lead Teachers.
- Document teaching and student progress, providing feedback to students, parents, and administration.
- Monitor student progress towards district goals using data-driven practices.
- Maintain current research-based practices for effective learning and visual arts instruction for all learners.
- Instruct students to improve their visual art appreciation and skills.
- Demonstrate the use of applicable equipment and supplies.
- Develop goals and action plans that align with the district and Educational Services.
- Participate in meetings (e.g., parent conferences, in-service training, site meetings).
- Follow state and federal guidelines.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
- Maintain classroom control, provide for student safety, and protect school property.
- Supervise pupils and assigned para-professionals.
- Foster positive student-teacher and student-student interaction.

Qualifications:
- Valid CA Single Subject: Art credential with English Language Learner Authorization.
- Valid California Teaching Credential, valid English Language Learner Authorization required.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- A current California Driver's License and proof of insurance are required.
- Advanced Degree or Master's in Visual Art is desirable.
- NCLB Compliance in Visual Arts. An additional Multiple Subjects teaching credential is also preferred.
Details:
- Salary: $63,947-$124,659 Annually + $2,000 Master's Degree Stipend, $2,000 Doctorate Stipend. $4,500 Hiring Bonus Incentive Final placement determined upon receipt of official sealed transcripts and verification of prior contracted teaching experience.
