Sports Research, a leader in health and wellness supplements, is seeking a results-driven Channel Marketing Manager - Retail & Wholesale to lead and grow our retail and wholesale channels. This role is critical to building strong relationships with retail partners, optimizing in-store and online presence, and driving sales performance across major accounts. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in retail and wholesale marketing, a passion for wellness, and a proven ability to manage high-impact campaigns in collaboration with cross-functional teams.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive channel marketing strategy for retail and wholesale accounts, including major brick-and-mortar retailers and distributors.
  • Establish key performance metrics and track success to ensure channel growth and profitability.
  • Partner with Sales, Product, and Creative teams to align marketing initiatives with retailer-specific goals.

Retail and Wholesale Marketing Execution:

  • Plan and implement trade promotions, including end caps, in-store displays, and co-branded marketing campaigns.
  • Collaborate with retail partners on joint marketing efforts, such as seasonal promotions, events, and digital activations.
  • Optimize product placement, packaging, and pricing strategies to maximize visibility and sales performance.

Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with retail and wholesale partners to foster collaboration and alignment.
  • Act as the primary marketing liaison for key accounts, ensuring timely communication and execution of campaigns.
  • Negotiate marketing and advertising opportunities with retail partners to maximize ROI.

Team Collaboration and Management:

  • Lead and mentor a team of channel marketing professionals and external agencies to deliver impactful campaigns.
  • Coordinate with the Supply Chain and Operations teams to ensure inventory readiness for promotions and launches.
  • Partner with eCommerce teams to create an omnichannel experience across retail and online channels.

Market Analysis and Trends:

  • Analyze consumer trends, category performance, and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities.
  • Provide insights and data-driven recommendations to improve market share and brand positioning.
  • Develop regular performance reports for senior leadership, including actionable recommendations.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in retail or wholesale marketing, preferably within the health/wellness or consumer packaged goods sectors.
  • Proven track record of managing successful campaigns with major retailers (e.g., Target, Walmart, Costco, and regional grocers).

Skills:

  • Strong expertise in trade marketing, promotional planning, and retail activation.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in retail analytics tools and platforms (e.g., Nielsen, IRI, or POS systems).
  • Ability to manage budgets and prioritize initiatives effectively.
