Upward Bound House (UBH) is dedicated to ending the cycle of intergenerational family homelessness. Position Summary

UBH seeks a bright and highly-motivated individual with excellent critical thinking ability to join our growing Development Department. The Development & Marketing Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting our 2024 revenue goal of $11 million. This person will be responsible for supporting the Development Department in donor relations, event coordination, marketing, database maintenance, and administrative duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Donor Engagement:

1) Manage a personal portfolio of mid-level donors and prospects, including developing and executing cultivation, stewardship and solicitation strategies.

2) Stays informed about programmatic work, maintaining the capacity to converse with donors as well as develop written cultivation and stewardship materials that relay the work and impact effectively.

3) Using a data-driven approach, identify and cultivate relationships with current and prospective donors, ensuring a high level of donor satisfaction.

4) Maintain accurate donor records and manage data entry in Salesforce ensuring timely and meaningful acknowledgment of all donations.

5) Collaborate cross-functionally to drive fundraising initiatives and enhance donor and volunteer engagement.

Marketing & Communications:

1) Develop and implement annual marketing and communications strategies to enhance visibility, donor reach, and brand awareness.

2) Create compelling donor-focused content, including impact reports, solicitation materials, acknowledgment letters, newsletters, and annual reports.

3) Write and design marketing materials using tools like Canva to enhance our visual communication.

4) Lead the creation of compelling content including press releases, social media campaigns, and multi-media materials to promote fundraising events and activities.

5) Create UBH presentation deck for senior staff and board as needed.

Data Base Management:

1) Manage Salesforce database by tracking and analyzing donor data, pulling campaign and event prospect lists and donor reports, reviewing and updating portfolios for CDO and development team, and utilizing data to inform campaign goals and strategies.

2) Maintain donor database to create records, record cash/in-kind contributions, send acknowledgments, and track actions and contacts.

3) Assist with reconciling donor gifts with Finance and prepare reports as needed.

4) Ensure timely and accurate donor acknowledgments and tax receipts.

5) Work with the Development Team to track engagement activities and donor progression.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1) Passion for the mission of Upward Bound House.

2) Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business, Public Health or related field.

3) Entry-level nonprofit development experience.

4) Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.

5) Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.

6) Excellent organizational and communication skills, and strong attention to detail.

7) Warm, friendly and outgoing personality comfortable engaging with new people on a daily basis.

8) Strong critical thinking ability with a focus on providing solutions.

9) Builds strong rapport with staff, board members, donors and volunteers.

10) Available for occasional work on weekends and evenings.
