Position Summary
As part of the proposal operations center, the proposal writer provides proposal writing on both commercial and government proposals, with a primary focus on state and local clients. The proposal writer crafts persuasive, high-quality proposals that are complete, compliant, and responsive, with an emphasis on client-first writing style. The proposal writer collaborates closely with business development and technical teams to ensure proposals are clear, accurate, and aligned with client needs.
Job Responsibilities:
Participate in kick-off meetings, strategy sessions and proposal project planning. Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and conduct additional research to gather and incorporate accurate and relevant information into the proposal content. Write, edit, and format narrative-style proposals, ensuring consistency, clarity, and compliance with client specifications. Transform existing content to develop customized, client-first responses that emphasize how solutions meet client-specific requirements. Incorporate win themes and address key client hot buttons into proposal content. Write and/or review proposal response documents and attachments including cover letters, executive summaries, past performance, management, and staffing sections. Participate in proposal reviews and incorporate feedback from stakeholders. Review and proofread proposals to eliminate errors and enhance readability. Ensure responses follow brand style and tone guidelines. Develop and maintain a well-organized proposal content library for future projects. Requirements:
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and virtual meeting platforms. Familiarity with proposal management software (Responsive) is a plus. Education and Experience:
Bachelors' degree or equivalent 2 - 5 years' experience writing client-centric, narrative-type proposal responses. Experience in language industry or staff augmentation is preferred, but not necessary. Physical Requirements
