Job Description

Location: New York, NY

The Fashion Assistant is a member of the Global Fashion Network. They are responsible for providing support for all fashion content across all platforms and market related projects. They work closely with the GFN, Editorial Lead, and local teams in executing fashion coverage.

They provide logistical support for all aspects of fashion editorial including research, sample requests and tracking, packing of trunks, messengers, carnets, and on set support.

As part of the GFN, this role also offers support to other brands within the network when needed.

Responsibilities

  1. Work directly with the Sr. Editor/Editor, communicating daily about upcoming fashion stories, projects, and fashion market work.
  2. Supports the execution of all fashion projects including managing run-throughs, fittings, and sample tracking.
  3. Ideation of fashion ideas across platforms, video, print, e-commerce, events, etc.
  4. Attend market appointments as needed.
  5. Maintain strong relationships with fashion brand PR representatives and communicate effectively with brands.
  6. Assist stylists with fittings and on set as needed.
  7. Manage all shoot logistics; research, moodboards, arranging messengers, packing of trunks, sample tracking, etc.
  8. Represent brand at industry events.
  9. Assist with other brands in the Global Fashion Network as needed.
  10. Additional duties as required, or as assigned by the manager.

Skills and Qualifications

  1. Existing relationships with key fashion brand PR representatives.
  2. Knowledge of the fashion industry, designers, brands, and culture at large.
  3. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  4. Works collaboratively.
  5. Extremely organized, detail-oriented, problem solver.
  6. Excellent communication skills, with excitement about fashion and the position.
  7. Working fashion experience.

The expected base salary range for this position is from $61,500-$70,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.
