Whimsy Games is an established game development company that has been creating exciting and engaging games for a diverse range of platforms, including mobile, desktop, and console, since its inception in 2018. The company has gained a reputation for producing high-quality games that entertain and captivate players of all ages and skill levels.

We are seeking an experienced Technical Artist for a project full-time cooperation (for 1-3 months).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Facilitate communication between programming and design teams
2. Assist in asset performance, validation, and resolution of technical issues
3. Port finished art to the game engine, ensuring visual resolution within engine limits
4. Enforce standards outlined by department heads
5. Develop tools and software to meet game requirements
6. Design character systems, optimize environments, and establish physics barriers
7. Write custom software using industry-standard scripting languages
8. Research and oversee rendering technique implementation
9. Enhance frame rate and memory performance, and resolve material errors and collision issues
10. Monitor overall game performance

COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE

1. 3+ years of expertise blending technical and artistic skills.
2. Advanced skills in Photoshop and Illustrator for captivating visuals.
3. Seamless integration of 2D, 3D, and VFX resources for optimal performance.
4. Extensive experience in Unity for immersive virtual environments.
5. Facilitating alignment between artists and developers.
6. Deep understanding of visually stunning graphics.
7. Initiating and driving projects independently.
8. Intermediate English proficiency for clear collaboration.
9. Experience with Jira will be a plus.
