About the Role:
As an IT Graphic Designer supporting our Federal government client, you will be trusted to provide specialized skills and ongoing support as our team works to update the client’s library of content to meet accessibility standards. This role is a key part of the team working to modernize the client’s systems.
The client’s web content management systems need to be modernized by automating content updates and deployments, providing faster and more consistent updates across web platforms and improving the user experience. Ensuring that all PDFs meet Section 508 accessibility requirements is very important. Another key component will be configuring Adobe Acrobat Pro, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Microsoft Office products, updating and optimizing them for cloud and on-premise environments. We also enhance publishing processes by integrating automation tools for repetitive tasks such as document formatting and conversion to HTML and PDF. Our focus on innovation and operational efficiencies empowers the client to meet its mission objectives effectively.
Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Troubleshooting (IT quality assurance testing automation tools, 508 compliance components, etc.)
- Provide Technical Support (document formatting, conversion, and publication)
- PDF Creation (workflows, templates, documents) and PDF Remediation
- Proficient in Adobe CC Suite and 508 Compliance (color contrast, reading order, alt text, legibility and readability, etc.)
- Template Creation
- Performs graphic designing and web development duties
- Formatting, converting, and publishing accessible documents
- Conducting accessibility audits and remediation for PDFs, Word documents, and other digital formats
- Converting MS Word documents into accessible PDFs and HTML files using scripts and automation tools
- Experience preparing print-ready documents, conducting pre-flight checks, working with print vendors on production and proofing, troubleshooting printing issues, and ensuring high-quality, timely print output
- Conduct quality assurance checks for layout consistency and accessibility
- Manage distribution of custom macros and templates for Microsoft Office for consistency across publications
- Support with updating SOPs, testing new publishing tools, and refining workflows for greater efficiency

Location:
You will work as part of a dynamic team primarily remotely.
Required Experience/Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 1 - 5 years of professional experience
- Adobe CC Suite (including Acrobat Pro, InDesign, FrameMaker, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Accessibility Standards & 508 Compliance
- Proficiency in Section 508, WCAG, and PDF/UA compliance standards for digital and printed materials
- Understanding of assistive technologies (screen readers, voice commands, magnifiers) and their interaction with document structures
- Creating press-ready PDFs and providing pre-flight and prepress support for print-readiness
- Experience with design systems, information architecture and component-based UI frameworks
- Performing and developing custom Microsoft Word Macros and Scripts
- US citizenship and the ability to pass public trust clearance or suitability
