Position Overview The

Senior Technical Designer

is responsible for managing the product lifecycle from showroom samples through production fit approval, ensuring design integrity, consistency, and production accuracy. This role leads live model fittings, provides precise fit corrections to overseas teams, and develops comprehensive technical packages to maintain garment construction standards. Partnering closely with Design and Production, the Senior Technical Designer plays a critical role in delivering high-quality, cost-effective styles on schedule. Key Responsibilities: Manage the product lifecycle from showroom samples through pre-production and final fit approval. Conduct live model fittings to assess garment fit, construction, and proportion, ensuring necessary adjustments. Analyze patterns and technical sketches to determine and implement fit corrections. Oversee initial sample specifications based on design sketches, working closely with Design to translate creative concepts into production-ready garments. Maintain alignment with Production teams through weekly meetings, tracking sample approvals and ensuring adherence to company timelines. Collaborate daily with agents and vendors to troubleshoot garment engineering challenges and optimize production efficiency. Mentor and develop Technical Designers and Assistant Technical Designers, fostering growth in technical expertise, administrative processes, and workflow management. Qualifications & Requirements: Education & Experience Bachelor's degree preferred, with specialized training in Technical Design and Patternmaking. Minimum of

15 years

of experience in women's technical design and/or patternmaking within the apparel industry. Technical Expertise Extensive knowledge of patternmaking, garment construction, and apparel fitting. Strong background in tailored sportswear, fit development, and garment engineering. Proficiency in

PLM, Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint, and Excel . Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate fit corrections clearly. Highly motivated to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities. Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines effectively, and drive results. Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams, vendors, and overseas offices.
