Job Description: Social Media Manager - Hotel Chocolat Chicago, IL Hybrid- (Min. of 2 days a week on-site) Hotel Chocolat has built a strong position as the UK’s favorite premium chocolate brand. As one of the first hires for Hotel Chocolat’s US business, you’ll play an instrumental role in an exciting growth phase of the brand. You will be at the forefront of our digital presence, leading our organic social media efforts, creating standout content, and building meaningful connections with our community. You will be responsible for growing the size and value of our social media channels, combining your content creation skills with your social media strategy to craft compelling content, including video, and leveraging influencer marketing to grow our reach. What are we looking for? Minimum High School Diploma required 3+ years of proven experience in social media management, with a focus on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. Strong skills in video creation and editing for social media platforms. Great storytelling abilities Strong understanding of owning organic social strategies, including audience engagement and platform algorithms. Experience with influencer marketing, including outreach, negotiation, and campaign management. A creative thinker with the ability to generate fresh ideas and bring them to life visually and verbally. Strong analytical skills to track performance and make data-driven decisions. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to stand alone Nice to have: Experience working in a startup or new market entrant Willingness to occasionally appear on camera as part of content creation. Experience in a premium direct to consumer brand What would be your key responsibilities? Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive organic social media strategy across Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok to drive engagement and audience growth. Stay ahead of social media trends and platform updates to ensure our strategy remains fresh and impactful. Content Creation: Plan, produce, and edit high-quality social media content, including short-form videos (e.g., Reels, TikToks), stills, and engaging graphics. Find & tell brand stories through video, working closely with our marketing & retail teams to create great content that heroes our products, our ethics & our people. Write captivating captions and posts that align with our brand voice and resonate with our audience. Collaborate with the paid media team to create and rework content for paid social requirements. Community Management: Engage with our audience, respond to comments, and build a loyal online community. Monitor and report on social media performance using analytics tools, making data-driven adjustments to strategies. Influencer Marketing: Identify, outreach, and collaborate with influencers and brand ambassadors who align with our values and goals. Manage influencer relationships and campaigns to amplify brand visibility and engagement. What can you expect from Hotel Chocolat? The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, if eligible, including variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Eligibility for these additional elements depend on the position offered and the employee’s work schedule (i.e., part-time schedule, store associate).
