MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Five years of experience in planning, directing, or producing television programs or audio-visual presentations; OR
A bachelor's degree plus two years of experience in planning, directing, or producing television programs or audio-visual presentations; OR
A bachelor's degree in film studies, broadcasting, digital media, cinematography, or communications plus one year of experience in planning, directing, or producing television programs or audio-visual presentations; OR
An advanced degree in film studies, broadcasting, digital media, cinematography, or communications.
Function of Work:
To perform a variety of tasks related to audio-visual media production and operation.
Level of Work:
Experienced.

General from higher ranking agency personnel.

Job Distinctions:
Differs from Television Producer by lack of supervisory responsibility and by less complex duties related to the creation, development, and implementation of original concepts for programs.
Differs from Television Director by lack of supervisory responsibility and in that incumbents of this job perform a variety of duties related to production rather than limited to directing and coordinating these activities.
Differs from Television Camera Operator by production responsibilities.
Produces video tapes, including operating video cameras, production switching, and lighting equipment; setting up sets; and editing tapes.
Produces pictures and slides using a 35mm camera.
Operates and programs special effects switcher and character generator in television production control room.
Performs preventive maintenance on equipment and materials including changing bulbs and cleaning and repair of film.
Maintains video tape and film library along with media checkout procedures.
Sets up and operates classroom video equipment (cameras, recorders, players, and monitors), 16mm movie and 35mm slide projectors, and film strip or overhead projectors.
Confers with instructors and prepares equipment and materials.
Troubleshoots and repairs television studio and field equipment.
Maintains property control inventory.
May write scripts.
May compile and edit program music sound tracks.
