WC Smith has an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Community Manager at Park Chelsea at The Collective, in the exciting Capitol Riverfront neighborhood. Park Chelsea features world-class amenities. The Assistant Community Manager will be expected to have significant interaction with residents, including maintaining a high level of customer service, taking ownership of all aspects of property management, and having excellent communication skills.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Partners with the maintenance team, the Community Manager, and The Collective senior management to ensure all property and resident needs are met.
- Serves as Park Chelsea office manager.
- Orders office, kitchen, and coffee supplies as needed.
- Assists Community Manager with the financial management performance of Park Chelsea, including maximizing income, tracking expenses, overseeing adherence to the budget, and budget planning.
- Manages the work and performance of the Resident Services Coordinators.
- Acts as the main point of contact for all resident issues, concerns, and maintenance requests after move-in and liaises with the Resident Services Coordinator and maintenance team to address concerns.
- Oversees rent collection, reviewing and verifying monthly billings, invoices, resident ledgers, and accounting details as needed.
- Oversees evictions and represents the property at court hearings as needed.
- Helps ensure excellent curb appeal and general upkeep and maintenance of the property.
- Uses problem-solving skills and best judgement to handle unpredictable situations as they arise.
- Collaborates with Community Managers, Property Manager, and GM in creating goals to better serve our residents, maximize performance, and surpass our competitors.
- Manages operations when Community Manager is not present.
- Provides assistance with The Collective initiatives and events as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, hospitality, marketing or a related field, and 3 years' experience as an Assistant Community Manager, or an associate's degree in business management, hospitality, marketing or a related field and 5 years' experience as an Assistant Community Manager.
- Good financial management skills, with some general accounting knowledge required.
- Strong customer service orientation with a focus on resident relations.
- At least 3 years' experience working in a luxury, Class A property required.
- Property Management certification, such as ARM, CAM or CALP, strongly preferred.
- Exemplary problem-solving, communication and analytic skills.
- Highly organized with excellent written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Federal and DC Fair Housing laws.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills such as Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
- Professional demeanor and appearance.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of residents, including on-call and weekends as needed.
