This role will develop and scale our product motion system across User Interface/User Experience surfaces across all of Meta, activating brand in product experiences in close partnership with Product Design and Brand.

Motion Designer - GenAI Responsibilities

  1. Deliver beautiful, high-craft animations from expressive animated illustrations, to subtle moments of delight, to functional UI prototyping.
  2. Partner closely with Product Designers, Art Directors and Illustrators to define and refine how our brand and animation can be used to bring clarity, humanity, and inspiration to key moments in our product experiences.
  3. Partner with Engineering to implement and ensure implementation is of high quality and craftsmanship, matching our design ideals.
  4. Think systematically about creative problem-solving in order to scale your creative efforts to serve thousands of internal stakeholders and billions of users.
  5. Communicate your decision-making and the ideas of the team to a broad audience of internal stakeholders, including presenting your creative work to company leadership.
  6. Manage multiple high-stakes projects and deadlines efficiently and effectively within a deadline-focused product environment.
  7. Produce conceptual and expressive animations as well as functional animations that are engaging and reflect a cohesive brand aesthetic.
  8. Generate ideas, inspire your teammates, give and receive feedback, and critique respectfully.
  9. Meet multiple deadlines, prioritize work, and keep projects moving forward.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. 7+ years of relevant experience working in a digital company, agency, or studio as a 2D motion designer and animator.
  2. Demonstrated experience designing and animating complex, expressive sequences that include vector illustration, icons, etc.
  3. Demonstrated experience prototyping User Interface designs with functional motion with subtle delights.
  4. Proven track-record to collaborate cross-functionally between product design and engineering to ensure that brand experiences in product ship efficiently and with a high standard of quality.
  5. Demonstrable taste and familiarity with both historical and current animation and illustration trends, both in and out of the tech world.
  6. Demonstrated experience taking and implementing feedback with collaborative ease and in a timely manner.
  7. High-growth working style with compelling, clear communication skills.
  8. A link to an online portfolio showcasing your work is required to be considered for this role (include link on your resume).
  9. Experience working with large scale brands, or within large brand systems.
  10. Experience creating and optimizing animations for digital products.
  11. Demonstrated success in After Effects.
  12. Knowledge of Cinema 4D or similar 3D animation software, Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma.
  13. Demonstrated Lottie and/or Keyframes experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Bonus Qualifications: Figma, Origami Studio or any other prototyping tool.
  2. Understanding of and application experience of Generative AI tools and workflows.

US$147,000/year to US$205,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits

Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
