OVERVIEW:
DeSales University, in Center Valley, PA, is a private, coeducational, four-year liberal arts Salesian, Catholic university, under the leadership of the Oblates of Saint Francis de Sales. Founded in 1965, the 550-acre suburban campus is located 50 miles north of Philadelphia and about 90 miles southwest of New York City. A total enrollment of nearly 3,500 includes undergraduate day and evening students, and graduate students. DeSales has approximately 135 full-time faculty members and offers more than 40 bachelor's degrees, twelve graduate programs, and over 20 certificate programs in a wide range of disciplines; many of these can be completed fully online.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Web Content Specialist will work with the DeSales University marketing & communications team to ensure content on all University websites is accurate, engaging, optimized for SEO, and seeks to attract and inform prospective students. This role involves managing web content governance, maintaining digital properties, accessibility standards, and supporting multimedia projects in alignment with the University’s brand and values. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented content strategist with strong writing and editing skills, a commitment to user experience, and an understanding of digital best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience writing for the web, including content optimization for SEO and accessibility.
  • Experience with CMS and/or CRM systems.
  • Familiarity with web accessibility guidelines (WCAG 2.1).
  • Experience with analytics tools such as Google Analytics or Tag Manager.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Sensitive to issues of ethnicity, disability and diversity.
  • Dedicated to the mission of a small, Catholic, liberal arts institution.
