We are looking for:
ASG is seeking experienced Installation Technicians with expertise in either Broadcast or Mechanical installation to join our team on a project-based, flexible basis. This role is ideal for professionals who excel in large-scale audiovisual and broadcast system integration projects and can commit to specific assignments as client needs arise.
- Broadcast Installation Technicians – Focus on cabling, system integration, and signal flow for broadcast and AV systems.
- Mechanical Installation Technicians – Specialize in physically mounting and installing display systems, projectors, speakers, and monitor walls.
Job Responsibilities:
For all Installation Technicians:
- Perform installations involving various cable types, including Belden 3G and 12G HDSDI, audio, antenna, control, and speaker cables.
- Install and terminate connectors, including 12G BNC, mini-BNC, and DIN.
- Construct, mount, and wire racks, enclosures, and cable harnessing with precision.
- Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints.
- Use hand, power, and mechanical tools for soldering and crimping connectors (technicians must supply specialty tools as needed).
- Perform quality assurance checks, including testing cable terminations to verify signal integrity.
Additional Responsibilities for Broadcast Installation Technicians:
- Configure and integrate broadcast systems, ensuring correct signal flow for audio, video, and control systems.
- Work with broadcast equipment manufacturers such as Belden, Canare, Kings, and Neutrik.
- Troubleshoot signal and system connectivity issues efficiently.
- Install displays and projectors with precise alignment and secure mounting.
- Hang and position speakers for optimal audio performance.
- Assemble and install multi-monitor walls, ensuring seamless configuration.
- Conduct structural assessments to ensure safe and durable installations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience in broadcast system installations and/or specialty mechanical AV installations.
- Strong technical skills with a detail-oriented, high-quality execution approach.
- Ability to work independently and in fast-paced, team-oriented environments.
- Knowledge of cable specifications (14–23 AWG) and broadcast connectors.
- Understanding of audio, video, and control system signal flow.
- Ability to travel to various locations within the Los Angeles area as needed.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Varied Locations – Work in TV studios, radio stations, live event venues, and outdoor sites, often requiring travel.
- Hands-On Work – Involves wiring, mounting, and configuring broadcast and AV equipment, sometimes in tight spaces or elevated positions.
- Deadline-Driven – Requires quick problem-solving to ensure systems are operational before live events.
- Collaborative Teamwork – Work closely with engineers, IT teams, and production staff to deliver seamless installations.
