The City of Midwest City is accepting applications for a Communication Specialist I in the Emergency Communications Department. The incumbent receives, analyzes, and dispatches messages to radio-equipped units of Police, Fire, and Ambulance departments, and monitors burglar and fire alarms.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in the operation of a two-way radio and computer terminal with OLETS certification preferred.
- Must pass a data entry test (minimum of 5500 keystrokes/hour).
- Must pass an in-depth background check, polygraph, drug screen, and hearing test.
This position is designated as safety/security sensitive and is subject to pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, and random drug and alcohol screening.
Starting Salary: $23.1102/hr.
