Position: Introduction to Music Adjunct Instructor FLSA Status: Exempt

Work Schedule: Depends on class schedule Salary: $750.00 Per Credit Hour

Reports To: Dr. Thersa Billiot, V.P. of Teaching and Learning

Organization and Location: Remote

Purpose of Position:

Little Priest Tribal College seeks an adjunct to teach one section of the MUSC1010 Introduction to Music course during the Fall 2025 semester. MUSC1010 is an introduction and overview of the history of Western art music, from the Middle Ages to modern times. Includes the elements of music, historical style periods, major composers, and selected works. This course is adopted from the Nebraska Transfer Initiative and can be found at the following location: MUSC1010 Syllabus.

Qualifications:

  • Instructional experience, preferably in a tribal community college setting.
  • Experience using technology in the classroom, including virtual, VTC, and online (asynchronous and/or synchronous formats).
  • Documented training and/or experience using Learning Management Systems, preferably Canvas.
  • Cultural competence in serving diverse populations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in music or a master’s degree with at least 18 graduate semester credit hours in music from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • Must have a Nebraska State Teaching Certificate or Postsecondary Teaching Permit or be willing to obtain.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must pass a pre-employment criminal background screen.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screening.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license without restrictions and must be insurable.
