Apple is looking for a User Experience Designer with experience in health to join our cross-functional team, contributing to the development of innovative, user-centered, and clinically sound features and products for our health-focused initiatives. This role focuses on distilling clinical needs into understandable and approachable patterns and systems that enhance the user experience while ensuring adherence to clinical guidelines. This role is supporting the work of AC Wellness. AC Wellness Network LLC is a subsidiary of Apple Inc. and is the dedicated management services organization (MSO) for AC Wellness, a dedicated independent medical group that serves Apple Wellness Centers in Santa Clara Valley. AC Wellness Network's mission is to deliver the world’s best healthcare experiences for Apple employees and innovate while delivering it.
Description
An ideal candidate for this role navigates ambiguity and evolving project requirements with ease and confidence. They enjoy working in sophisticated problem areas, diving deep into details and collaboration, and coming out the other side with a system that can drive user experience. They are patient, understanding, ego-free, and eager to give and receive feedback. The ability and desire to build consumer friendly experiences surrounding intricate topics is a plus. Key responsibilities include: - Systems Design: Distill complex clinical concepts into approachable experience frameworks that align with business objectives, user needs, and clinical guidelines, enhancing the user experience of Apple's health-focused products and services. - Defining Needs and Possible Solutions: Collaborate with multi-functional teams to translate clinical needs into user-friendly solutions, define product requirements and design innovative clinical systems that meet the needs of diverse user groups. - Synthesize: Work closely with clinicians to understand clinical conditions, interventions, and populations to deliver the core clinical concepts or point of view for a particular feature/product. - Idea generation and concept development: Facilitate brainstorming sessions and employ various creative techniques to generate a broad range of innovative ideas and concepts, addressing user needs and market opportunities in the clinical health domain. - Visualize Ideas: Wireframe, and prototype when needed to assist in crafting clinically sound features and products that address user-centered needs and behaviors. - Advocating for users and clinical efficacy: Act as the voice of the user and the clinical domain in the design process, ensuring that our final products are efficacious, useful, usable, and desirable for everyday users.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in design or health-related field
A combination of 6+ years of work experience in health and design—health product design, clinical work, public health, health education, or health service design.
Proven experience in experience design or design strategy.
Experience facilitating brainstorming sessions and generating innovative ideas and concepts.
Demonstrated passion for Apple, its products, and its customers
Key Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree in a Health or Design field such as Public Health or Design Strategy
8+ years of work experience in the design space
Proficiency in Sketch, Keynote, and other industry-standard design tools.
Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Strong user advocacy and understanding of user-centered design principles.
Excellent communication skills and ability to present design concepts and strategies clearly.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills (English)
Past experience working on complex multi-functional projects in the health field
Self-motivated and capable of driving multiple projects forward.
Thrive in a collaborative environment, leveraging group critique and iterative design processes to refine work.
Experience in artificial intelligence or health-related apps, programs, or data is not vital, but valuable.
Additional expertise in prototyping, data visualization, or animation is a plus.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
