The Director of Marketing will be responsible for leading Build IT’s marketing strategy, brand positioning, sponsorship sales, event sales, audience growth, and sales team management. This role will focus on developing and executing marketing campaigns that drive community engagement, increase event attendance, and generate sponsorship and event revenue. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marketing strategy, event promotion, sponsorship sales, event sales, and managing sales teams within the technology or MSP industry.

Responsibilities

  • Marketing Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement integrated marketing campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, and revenue growth for Build IT initiatives.
  • Sponsorship & Event Sales: Lead the development and execution of sponsorship and event sales strategies to secure partners and increase attendance for Build IT LIVE and other key events.
  • Sales Team Management: Oversee, mentor, and manage the sales team, ensuring alignment with revenue goals and providing support to maximize performance.
  • Brand Positioning & Messaging: Ensure consistent and compelling brand messaging across all marketing channels, aligning with Build IT’s mission and goals.
  • Event Marketing & Promotion: Drive attendance and engagement for Build IT LIVE and other training programs through targeted digital and traditional marketing campaigns.
  • Partnership Development: Build and maintain strong relationships with sponsors, industry influencers, and strategic partners to enhance Build IT’s reach.
  • Content Development: Oversee the creation of high-quality marketing content, including email campaigns, social media, website updates, and promotional materials.
  • Performance Analytics: Track key marketing and sales metrics, analyze campaign effectiveness, and optimize strategies for better engagement and conversion.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, community management, and executive leadership to align marketing efforts with business objectives.



Qualifications


  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Experience: 7+ years in marketing leadership, with a proven track record in sponsorship sales, event sales, event marketing, and managing sales teams (preferably in the tech or MSP industry).
  • Sales Leadership Expertise: Experience managing and leading sales teams to drive sponsorships and event revenue.
  • Sponsorship & Event Sales Expertise: Experience developing and closing sponsorship and event sales deals for conferences and community-driven initiatives.
  • Event Marketing Experience: Strong background in marketing conferences, training programs, or large-scale industry events.
  • Strategic Thinker: Ability to develop and execute marketing strategies that drive growth and revenue.
  • Data-Driven Approach: Proficiency in using analytics to measure marketing and sales performance and optimize campaigns.
  • Excellent Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling marketing messages.
  • Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with marketing automation tools, CRM systems, and digital marketing platforms.
