Job Summary:
Jo-Lu Studio is seeking a Mozaik Software Cabinet Designer to create precise, production-ready designs for custom cabinetry and millwork. This role requires expertise in Mozaik Cabinet Software to develop cabinetry plans and elevations, 3D models, detailed cut lists, and CNC-ready files. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of cabinet construction, materials, and manufacturing processes and can seamlessly translate design concepts into buildable, high-quality products.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Cabinet Design & Drafting
• Use Mozaik Cabinet Software to create 3D models, layouts, and technical drawings for custom cabinetry and millwork.
• Develop accurate cut lists, parts breakdowns, and assembly diagrams for the fabrication team.
• Optimize designs for efficiency in material usage, machining, and assembly.
• Ensure designs align with Jo-Lu Studio’s quality standards and client expectations.
2. CNC Programming & Production Integration
• Generate CNC-ready files from Mozaik for automated cutting and machining processes.
• Work with the fabrication team to troubleshoot and refine CNC tool paths and cutting strategies.
• Ensure seamless integration of Mozaik files with production workflows.
3. Blueprint Interpretation & Customization
• Read and interpret architectural drawings, client sketches, and project specifications.
• Collaborate with designers, engineers, and project managers to develop custom solutions that meet project requirements.
• Modify existing cabinet designs based on client feedback, space constraints, or material selections.
4. Material Selection & Optimization
• Specify materials, hardware, and finishes for each project, ensuring compatibility with design intent and manufacturing capabilities.
• Optimize nesting layouts to reduce waste and improve efficiency in CNC production.
• Stay informed about the latest materials, finishes, and hardware options in the industry.
5. Collaboration & Project Coordination
• Work closely with project managers and production teams to ensure smooth execution from design to installation.
• Provide clear documentation and communication to shop staff and installers.
• Assist in resolving design challenges that arise during fabrication or installation.
6. Quality Control & Process Improvement
• Review designs to ensure accuracy, functionality, and compliance with industry standards.
• Identify areas for improvement in workflow efficiency and software utilization.
• Stay updated on Mozaik software updates and best practices to maximize design and production capabilities.

Requirements & Qualifications:
• Experience: 3+ years of experience in cabinet design, millwork drafting, or related field.
• Software Proficiency: Expertise in Mozaik Cabinet Software is required; familiarity with AutoCAD, SketchUp, or other design tools is a plus.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of woodworking techniques, cabinet construction, and CNC manufacturing processes.
• Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret architectural drawings and convert them into detailed cabinet plans.
• Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce highly accurate designs and cut lists.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot design and production challenges effectively.
• Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with teams and clients.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to visit job sites for field measurements and verification (preferred but not required for remote positions).
