Overview:
Midtown Auto Repair – Goodyear is seeking a customer-oriented, detail-focused Service Writer to join our team. As a Service Writer, you’ll be the main point of contact for customers, ensuring they receive excellent service and accurate information about their vehicle repairs and maintenance. Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist customers in a friendly, professional manner, both in person and over the phone.
  • Write accurate service orders, clearly explaining customer concerns and requests to the service team.
  • Provide customers with clear and accurate estimates for services and repairs.
  • Explain the recommended services, repairs, and maintenance in an easy-to-understand manner.
  • Schedule appointments and manage the service flow to optimize customer experience and shop efficiency.
  • Provide timely updates to customers on their vehicle status and completion timelines.
  • Communicate effectively with technicians to ensure customer needs are met and service orders are completed as requested.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback with a positive, solution-oriented approach.
  • Process customer payments, including explaining charges and ensuring accuracy in billing.
  • Ensure all customer interactions are properly documented in our service management system.
  • Keep up-to-date with product knowledge and industry trends to provide the best recommendations and advice.
  • Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and promote future services.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in the auto repair industry, customer service, or service writer role (preferred).
  • Knowledge of automotive repair processes and services (preferred).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficient in using service management software (experience with Goodyear or similar systems a plus).
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Customer-focused with the ability to handle customer concerns effectively and professionally.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
