CURA Strategies, an award-winning health care communications and public affairs agency, is looking for a Vice President with extensive health care communications and earned media experience to join our team. Working with nonprofit and corporate clients in the areas of mental health, health disparities, cardiology, kidney disease and more, we pride ourselves in creating lasting results for clients – and we are looking for someone who shares our passion and believes in our mission. RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for day-to-day strategy, operations and management of client accounts Lead the development, presentation and execution of integrated strategic communications plans Provide proactive high-level client counsel and creative recommendations that contribute to ROI and distinguish CURA Strategies as a valuable partner Develop and execute earned media strategies that drive visibility, engagement and impact for clients, securing high-profile placements in top-tier health, policy, and consumer media. Maintain strong relationships with reporters, producers and editors across health care, policy, and business outlets. Develop external communications initiatives, campaigns and materials that reach health care stakeholders such as third-party organizations, health care professionals, media, patients, policymakers etc. Oversee high quality and error-free written and digital materials, including media correspondence, bylines, marketing collateral, videos, issue briefs, etc. Maintain strong client relationships and form new ones across the accounts they lead to develop a 360-degree understanding of the work and provide counsel/insights that are informed by multiple perspectives Contribute to organic growth of the account by identifying new business opportunities and leading all initiatives required to secure additional contracts Supervise and train junior account staff; provide quality control, determine workflow and assignments Develop and oversee budgets and staffing plans to ensure the health of the account from a staffing and financial perspective Contribute to ongoing health care business development and marketing efforts for the office Contribute to talent development program for junior staff Participate in cultural and team building activities that support the overall CURA culture QUALIFICATIONS 9-13 years of health care communications experience, including agency experience Successfully led strategic communications initiatives for both nonprofit and corporate clients Deep understanding of earned media strategies, with a proven track record of securing top-tier media coverage in national, trade, and local press Strong relationships with reporters and editors in health care, business, and policy media Understands how corporate communications, marketing and government relations can support one another in advancing reputation Experienced in crisis communications, media training and message development. Experienced people manager, having successfully overseen client teams responsible for delivering on time and on budget.
