Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Communications, the Sr Marketing & Communications Manager is responsible for developing and executing detailed project plans for integrated marketing communications initiatives that support Girl Scouts of Connecticut's (GSOFCT) strategic goals. This role involves managing strategic, digital, and media campaigns to boost brand awareness, increase revenue, and grow statewide membership.
The Sr. Marketing & Communications Manager collaborates with the Marcom team, internal leadership, and external vendors to execute effective marketing strategies. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, creative professional who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Campaign Strategy & Execution: Lead the planning, strategy, implementation, and optimization of digital media campaigns across website, text, email, paid search, social media, and other digital mediums. Manage relationships with the digital media agency and oversee campaign execution. Lead the internal communications strategy to ensure consistency across all internal channels. Lead yearly digital strategy and planning, including the calendar execution of each medium. Project Execution & Implementation:
Develop and manage detailed project plans, ensuring meeting deadlines and goals. Work cross-functionally to align marketing initiatives with strategic objectives. Oversee campaign budgets and vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective execution. Utilize project management tools to track progress and manage approvals. Identify and mitigate potential risks in project execution. Triages Salesforce Marcoms cases appropriately. Design & Content Development:
Write, edit, and design marketing materials, including ads, brochures, flyers, and other digital collateral. Ensure high-quality production of digital assets in collaboration with vendors. Brand Governance:
Ensure all marketing materials align with GSOFCT and GSUSA brand guidelines. Ensures all digital marketing campaigns are in line with brand guidelines and drive increased relevance in our communities. Responsible for overseeing the monitoring of our brand image in all digital outlets. Responsible for the internal campaign executions (extensions of external campaigns). Budget & Resource Management:
Manage campaign budgets alongside the Director of Marketing and Communications. Track financial performance and adjust plans as needed. Responsible for monitoring marketing efforts performance and leads reporting cadence. Team Participation & Leadership:
Contribute to key Marcom Team initiatives that enhance GSOFCT's marketing capabilities. Supervise digital marketing specialists and mentor interns, overseeing their projects in collaboration with department leadership. Foster a culture that values diversity, equity, and inclusion across marketing efforts. Required Skills & Qualifications:
Experience:
+5 years in marketing communications, project management, or related fields (nonprofit experience preferred). Education:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred. Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator). Salesforce familiarity a plus Experience with social media, digital marketing, and web content management. Familiarity with project management tools.
Soft Skills:
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. Strong project management and organizational abilities. Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal skills.
Additional Job Requirements:
Must be able to attend GS events across the state (min 1 / month) Must be a registered Girl Scout member. Valid Connecticut driver's license and ability to travel statewide. Flexible schedule, including availability for evening and weekend work. Physical ability to lift up to 20 lbs. and stand for long periods during events. Photography and videography experience is a plus. WORK ENVIRONMENT:
