Job Summary: The CAD Designer will use specialized computer software (such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Revit) to design, develop, and create detailed technical drawings and plans. These designs will be used in the production of products or structures, ensuring they meet project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Create Technical Drawings:
  • Develop precise 2D and 3D drawings and models based on project requirements.
  • Use CAD software to create detailed schematics, blueprints, layouts, and technical drawings for use in product development or construction projects.
  1. Collaborate with Engineers/Architects:
  • Work closely with engineers, architects, or product developers to understand project specifications, design criteria, and technical requirements.
  • Make modifications to drawings based on feedback from team members and stakeholders.
  1. Design and Drafting:
  • Draft designs for products, buildings, or machinery, ensuring they meet functional and aesthetic standards.
  • Use advanced drafting techniques to visualize designs and ensure alignment with project goals.
  1. Quality Control:
  • Ensure that all drawings and models adhere to industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.
  • Perform checks to confirm that all components and materials in the design are accurately represented.
  1. Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM):
  • List the required materials, parts, and components for manufacturing or construction based on the drawings.
  1. Revision and Updates:
  • Make changes to existing designs when necessary due to revisions, improvements, or project updates.
  • Document and manage revisions using version control to maintain an accurate record of all modifications.
  1. Project Management Support:
  • Assist in managing design timelines, ensuring that all drawings and models are completed on time.
  • Provide support during project implementation and monitor the progression of design from concept to completion.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • A bachelor’s degree or associate degree in CAD design, engineering, architecture, or a related field is preferred.
  • Certification in specific CAD software (such as AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or others) may be required.
  • Experience:
  • Proven experience as a CAD Designer, Drafter, or similar role.
  • Experience in the industry relevant to the job (e.g., construction, manufacturing, automotive, etc.) is an advantage.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with engineering and architectural concepts.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
  • May involve occasional visits to construction sites or manufacturing floors, requiring the ability to navigate the environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Office environment with a standard work schedule.
  • Some positions may require fieldwork or travel depending on project needs.
