Responsibilities:
- Help define and drive organizational content goals, strategy, and tactics, including the development of content strategies and associated editorial actions to propel organic traffic growth and campaign content engagement
- Provide content strategy recommendations to content teams based on metrics, analysis, inventory audits, competitive assessments, and stakeholder interviews
- Manage content inventories, audits, and analyses for a variety of stakeholders with differing contingencies, audience needs, and goals
- Work closely with content owners across the content ecosystem to manage the strategic planning, implementation, analysis, and optimization of content for a variety of distribution methods and use cases
- Develop processes, workflows, and tools that ensure content development steps are efficiently and successfully executed and tracked across teams and throughout the content lifecycle
- Ensure content collaborator education on and adherence to strategic best practices, brand standards, content maintenance rules, and other governance
- Define metrics for content performance and provide regular updates to leadership on key KPIs, milestones, and growth opportunities
- Display high competency in project management, working in a complex environment on execution of simultaneous projects of varying scope and scale, often with competing deadlines
Required Skills:
- 6+ years of experience in content strategy, content design, or a similar role; editorial content strategy experience strongly preferred
- Proven experience developing and executing content strategies that drive growth and engagement
- Deep knowledge of SEO best practices and proven experience using SEO and other data to successfully inform content decisions
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to balance multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment
- Strong predilection for creative problem-solving and solutions-focused thinking
- Experience with health-related content
- Capacity for relationship-building, including excellent communication skills
- Experience with content management systems, analytics and SEO tools, and spreadsheets
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or equivalent experience
Preferred:
- Strong understanding of editorial concepts, including content formats, voice/tone/style, and basic journalistic principles
- Experience with data analytics tools, particularly Adobe Omniture
- Experience guiding and mentoring content owners and creators, ensuring adherence to best practices, brand guidelines, and content standards
- Working knowledge of taxonomies and content tagging
- Ability to identify key topics, themes, and content types that resonate with our target audiences and are supportable with data
- Experience developing calendars or content roadmaps that coordinate strategic objectives across multiple channels.
