Overview Writing will include developing and preparing written material, such as system requirements, training scenarios, standard operating procedures, and other content or material. Editing will include the planning, coordinating, or editing content or material for publication and the review of content for possible publication. Responsibilities Ensures use of plain language writing in all documents. Ensures consistency in design and terminology for all documents. Maintains a well-organized SharePoint site for all documentation. Creates standard templates and a framework for authors to maintain consistency and efficiency in document preparation. Prepares and/or maintains documentation. Plans, writes, rewrites and/or edits, and publishes documents, such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and website content, to clearly and effectively communicate to a wide range of audiences. Translates complex data into user-friendly text and selects/recommends use of non-text means to amplify or clarify publications objectives. Conducts quality review of new content before publication, to include editing, proofreading, and assuring alignment with strategic objectives and stakeholder interests. Interviews technical resources and reviews existing technical and functional artifacts to create, update, and publish technical documentation. Relevant documentation includes but is not limited to: Requirements and Design Documents; Functional and Technical Specifications Documents; Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and operational checklists; test plans, cases, and scripts; and Policy and Standards. Directs and mentors team members, interfaces with technical and client management to assess requirements, resource assignments, gaps, etc. Coordinates information gathering sessions and documentation reviews with stakeholders, independently researches and evaluates topic areas, and reviews and provides updates/edits to drafted technical documentation. Qualifications Must be a US citizen Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance Bachelor’s degree or higher in any discipline Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience including legal writing, policy evaluation, process improvement, and drafting. Proficient in the following Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. Pay Range USD $110,000.00 - USD $125,000.00 /Yr.
