Who We Need:
We are seeking a Product Marketing Specialist to join our passionate toy team. This role will focus on plush and fashion role play category management, including the execution of FAO Schwarz plush and trend-driven role play accessories. The ideal candidate will have experience in soft goods product development, including cut-and-sew construction, fabric innovation, and fashion-forward design, with a keen eye for trends, materials, and consumer insights.
The Product Marketing Specialist will collaborate with the Sr. Product Marketing Manager and cross-functional teams to develop and execute plush and fashion role play product strategies. This role requires a blend of creativity and analytical skills, ensuring that our soft goods lines remain innovative, high-quality, and commercially successful. Responsibilities: • Support plush and fashion role play category management, ensuring product lines align with brand identity, market trends, and consumer demand. • Develop and contribute to product strategies and collections for plush and fashion role play accessories, incorporating material innovation, trend forecasting, and consumer insights. • Conduct market research to identify key trends, competitive insights, and consumer preferences, ensuring soft goods product lines remain innovative and relevant. • Work closely with product development and design teams to ensure high-quality execution of plush and fashion role play accessories, including fabric selection, embellishments, and construction techniques. • Assist in the development of retailer-specific programs and exclusives, tailoring product offerings and marketing strategies to drive growth across key retail partners. • Develop compelling product messaging and storytelling that highlights the quality, uniqueness, and craftsmanship of plush and fashion role play collections, especially for FAO Schwarz. • Coordinate product launch strategies, supporting marketing activities across digital, in-store, and social media to maximize visibility and consumer engagement. • Track and analyze product sales performance, making data-driven recommendations to optimize category growth and success.
Develop and maintain comprehensive product documentation. Assist in the creation and upkeep of product roadmaps and release schedules. Candidate Qualifications: • BS/MS degree in marketing, fashion, business, or a related field • 3+ years of experience in product marketing, category management, or brand management with a strong focus on plush toys, soft goods, or fashion accessories • Knowledge of plush materials, cut-and-sew techniques, and fabrications required • Experience in fashion trend forecasting and consumer insights • Experience working with licensed brands and within licensor guidelines • Ability to analyze market trends and translate insights into actionable product strategies • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment • Excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation skills
