Position Summary We are seeking a passionate and experienced Director of Brand Communications to join Builders Vision’s communications function which includes internal, external, events, media relations, brand stewardship and reputational strategies. Reporting to the Head of Communications, this role will be responsible for developing the BV brand into a powerful and influential brand, and developing and executing compelling brand communications strategies across all channels to enhance the firm's reputation and drive impact. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the importance of a strong and clear brand purpose and knows how to execute strategies that effectively reach and influence audiences that deploy investment and philanthropic capital toward sustainable solutions and industries. In addition to working directly with the Head of Communications on Brand Equity and Reputation strategies, this position will work closely with the Director of Program Communications and the Director of Strategic Convenings. This role will manage a Communications Manager who supports internal and external communications. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement comprehensive brand communication strategies: Align and steward brand messaging and storytelling across all channels, including website, social media, press releases, presentations, and events. Internal and external communications responsibilities: External: Work with the communications team to ensure we are building our brand equity with our target audiences and that our teams are properly and effectively representing our brand with external audiences - across events and all channels - including website and social media optimization. Internal: Partner with the Communications and People teams to develop a strong employer brand and communications approaches that support a strong culture and highly engaged workforce, as well as help retain and attract strong talent. This role will support internal strategies that help inspire the organization, understand our sector strategies, stay true to our brand and values and manage change. Develop and execute compelling content: Lead strategic, creative campaigns across our channels that will include the creation and design of high-quality content, including blog posts, articles, videos, and social media content, that showcases the company’s investment thesis, portfolio companies, grantees and unique approach to catalyzing markets. This will happen in partnership with our Director of Communications who drives our oceans, energy and food storytelling strategies, special announcements and partnerships. Develop and oversee brand guidelines and ensure consistency and discipline: Maintain and update brand guidelines and ensure consistent brand messaging across all channels. Provide playbooks and assets as well as train BV teams on how to represent and communicate the brand. Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with the investment and philanthropy teams, communications team and agency, and other departments to ensure alignment and support business objectives. Track and measure the impact of communications efforts: Work with the communications team to measure and monitor key metrics, analyze campaign performance, and provide regular reports on the effectiveness of communications activities. This includes monitoring brand reputation and awareness, and analyzing brand sentiment and trust. Qualifications: 10+ years of experience in brand communications, marketing, and public relations with a strong track record of success in developing and executing integrated communication campaigns. Proven leadership experience in building, managing and measuring strong brands, with a deep understanding of brand strategy and storytelling. Possesses ability to develop strategies and brand risk assessments for a growing, complex and fast paced organization. Experience in influencing investor audiences is strongly preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Passion for sustainability and impact. Proficiency in using social media platforms and other digital communication tools. Demonstrated ability to manage highly confidential information with the greatest care. Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field.
