Title: IT Technical Writer

Duration: 12+ Months on w2

Payrate : $45/Hr on W2

Location: Milwaukee, WI (hybrid : Once in a month)

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our Information Technology Telecommunications team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in creating clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation tailored to technical and business audiences. This position involves collaborating with subject matter experts, technical staff, and stakeholders to develop comprehensive standards, policies, procedures, and user documentation.

Expected Start / End Time: 8am-5pm

Job Duties:

  1. Compose, organize, and edit technical documents with a focus on clarity and user accessibility.
  2. Conduct in-depth research and analysis of technical information to produce accurate, concise, and engaging materials.
  3. Collaborate closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to create and maintain policies, procedures, and standards documentation.
  4. Translate complex technical concepts into simplified, user-friendly language tailored for diverse audiences.
  5. Oversee the preparation, editing, and verification of technical information to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  6. Review, revise, and enhance existing documentation to meet organizational standards and best practices.
  7. Maintain consistent formatting, style, and tone across all technical documents.
  8. Communicate complex ideas and technical concepts effectively and concisely.
  9. Contribute to team collaboration and provide guidance on documentation standards and processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Strong collaboration and problem-solving abilities when working with diverse teams and managing the challenges of working with strong personalities.
  2. Flexibility and emotional intelligence to navigate differing perspectives and foster a positive work environment.
  3. Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Technical Communication, English, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  4. Education and certifications will be reviewed based on best practices and relevance to the role.
  5. Minimum 3 years of proven experience in technical writing and communication.
  6. Exceptional multitasking ability, with a proven track record of managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  7. Strong aptitude for understanding and explaining complex technical concepts.
  8. Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, Visio, and SharePoint.
  9. High attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience in IT infrastructure and telecommunications industries.
  2. Familiarity with utility industry standards for documentation.
