Description

Location: Within 50 miles of the Boston, MA or Portsmouth, NH offices; requirement of 2 days (of your choosing) a week in office.

We’re looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Content Strategist to join our expanding SEO team within the marketing department at Liberty Mutual. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of Liberty at a pivotal moment as we aim to drive new business growth, enhance our brand presence, and harness innovative technologies.

This newly created role is essential for supporting our increased focus on organic growth initiatives and new business strategies, and we need your expertise to help us make an impact as we navigate these transformational efforts. In this role, you will write and manage content across Liberty Mutual's websites, ensuring a cohesive brand voice while adhering to legal and marketing standards.

If you possess a robust writing background, a solid understanding of SEO, experience with content management systems (CMSs) including content migrations, a knack for fostering collaboration across teams, and a willingness to dive into content creation, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including UX designers, product owners, and SEO analysts, to create and implement content strategies that align with business objectives and SEO best practices.
  • Work closely with the SEO team to create and maintain a content calendar that reflects SEO best practices while supporting marketing initiatives.
  • Manage a new quarterly content auditing process, reviewing and updating website pages to ensure content relevance, accuracy, and effectiveness. Refine process and explore new ways to automate and improve efficiency.
  • Write and edit long-form and short-form content for Liberty Mutual web properties adhering to style, voice, and compliance standards, as needed.
  • Drive strategic consolidation of key content from legacy brands into our primary website, working closely with cross-departmental stakeholders to achieve alignment and ensure a unified customer experience.
  • Act as the marketing department’s main point of contact for an upcoming new CMS, becoming an expert on the platform, training team members on basic content updates, and managing the transition of 300+ webpages.
  • Continuously evaluate content performance and incorporate user feedback to optimize the content strategy and improve overall engagement metrics.
  • Perform content gap and competitive analyses to identify content growth opportunities.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging AI technologies including Generative Engine Optimization for improved content visibility and creation.
  • Support ad-hoc content requests from various teams within the marketing organization and remain flexible to evolving business and user needs.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • 5-7 years of experience in content creation and strategy, with a strong understanding of SEO and digital marketing best practices.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Skilled in content management systems (CMS) and adept at providing training and support to colleagues.
  • A growth mindset that thrives in finding new and better ways of doing things.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools to track content performance.
  • Experience working with and managing external contractors.
  • Experience working in a large company or the insurance/financial industry is strongly preferred.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Marketing, Business Administration or Communications preferred or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant and progressively more responsible experience within a marketing driven organization
  • Requires advanced knowledge of marketing communications principles and practices
  • Experience working with and/or managing outside agencies
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work on multiple priorities
  • Strong knowledge of relevant technologies
  • Strong organizational, coordination, project management, and analytical skills
  • Strong presentation skills required
  • Budget management and project management experience preferred
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization
  • Proactively seeks to learn and apply new tactics and job skills to enhance current role and improve broader team’s performance
  • Demonstrates understanding of insurance industry, products, services, and trends
  • Actively seeks to expand and integrate marketing knowledge and skills into recommendations, as well as function responsibilities and the connection to the broader organization
