Straz Center is currently looking for a talented individual to fill the position of Graphic Designer! This is an exciting role that participates in and contributes to conceptual, creative and stylistic direction for campaigns and provide services to internal clients. Our ideal candidate will have a degree in art/design, 2+ years of professional, fulltime experience as a Graphic Designer and strong working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
The Straz Center for the Performing Arts, located along the beautiful Riverwalk in downtown Tampa, Florida, is one of the largest performing arts centers in the southeastern United States. The Straz boasts one of the nation's leading Broadway series and is nationally respected for producing grand opera, as well as presenting a wide variety of concerts, performances and events.

Essential Functions:
- Works with clientele to ascertain needs and to in turn develop graphic concepts and specifications.
- Plans, designs, and produces a wide range of specialized graphic, illustrative material with may include original artwork (logos and photo-composites) and/or multimedia concepts.
- Coordinates the production process; inspects proofs for accuracy and adherence to production standards.
- Communicates and interfaces with vendors, builds strong relationships: acquire bids, set up production schedules and follow through to point of delivery and/or installation.
- Provides technical advice and guidance, and serves as liaison with production personnel, clients and vendors on design and technical graphics issues.
- Participates in production and/or marketing planning group sessions and meetings, on a project basis.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position has no supervisory responsibility.
Education, Work Experience, Qualifications:
- Degree in art/design or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years' experience as a Graphic Designer
- Strong working knowledge with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
- Knowledge of Microsoft 365 including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams is necessary.
- Creative self-starter who can successfully manage multiple projects and respect multiple deadlines and rapidly changing priorities on a tight schedule.
- Excellent spelling, grammar, and written and verbal communication skills.
