We are seeking an Assistant Designer to support our premier retail client’s Apparel Design team with sketching, fabric development, PLM management, research, and submits. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, highly organized individual with a passion for fashion and a keen eye for design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in creating detailed sketches and technical flats for new designs.
- Manage and organize PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) data, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Support fabric development, including tracking submits, approvals, and communication with vendors.
- Conduct trend and market research to support the design team in concept development.
- Prepare and maintain design boards, tech packs, and seasonal overviews.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with design, production, and merchandising teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
- 1+ years of experience in apparel design
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Experience with PLM software
- An understanding of garment construction.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred:
- Previous experience with fabric development and working with vendors.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
