THE ROLE The Director of Public Relations will develop and execute strategic communications campaigns that enhance Legends / ASM Global’s brand and reputation, as well as drive external activities that support key company priorities and business objectives. Core responsibilities include corporate announcements, storytelling and message development, support of client/venue communications, thought leadership initiatives and media engagement to maintain a strong, positive public presence. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Drive the external corporate communications strategy and deliver value-add communications support to clients and priority venues. Assess and support communications needs across all areas of the company; provide PR counsel, issues management support, materials review, and streamlined processes to help team members succeed. Closely collaborate with key stakeholders (internal and external), marketing and creative departments, and other cross-functional teams to craft and tell compelling stories. Create press releases, media kits, executive messaging, briefing materials and other PR-related content. Manage the company’s awards strategy and submission process. Support securing and promoting executive speaking engagements. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all Legends & ASM policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with effectiveness, energy and enthusiasm. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related field. 7+ years of communications experience, specializing in media relations. Experience in sports and live entertainment. In-house and Agency experience a plus. SKILLS AND ABILITIES Strategic and creative thinker with a track record of supporting complex organizations in all aspects of communications. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong network of media contacts and proven success in securing press coverage. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively. Team player with a can-do attitude and the ability to manage multiple senior stakeholders across multiple business areas. Highly organized with a keen attention to detail. Ability to manage change and adapt quickly in a dynamic business environment. Experience with PR measurement tools, media monitoring, and social media platforms. Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). COMPENSATION Competitive salary range of $120,000 - $140,000 commensurate with experience, and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401k plan.
