Working independently and exercising good judgement and discretion, the Creative Operations Lead will plan, coordinate, and produce social media, video, photo, and graphic design content for the College of Applied Studies & Academic Success (CASAS).
This position is a full-time, twelve-month, staff position in CASAS. This individual reports to the Director of Operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Videography
- Independently and collaboratively research, plan, film, and edit high-quality videos for academic and marketing purposes.
- Scout and schedule locations for video shoots; schedule and oversee talent.
- Maintain inventory and ensure all equipment is in good working order.
- Independently and collaboratively develop social media goals, strategies, and content calendars for CASAS social media accounts.
- Conceptualize, plan, and produce content for CASAS social media accounts that further CASAS's mission and foster active engagement with target audiences.
- Monitor, track, and report performance of accounts using analytics tools; adjust strategies as needed.
- Coordinate and submit weekly social media calendars to Liberty's social media team for approval.
- Shoot and edit well-composed photos for a wide range of communications and marketing purposes.
- Produce graphic art and design material for digital and print projects.
- Review, proof, and edit content for accuracy and consistency of message, as well as adherence to Liberty's branding and style guide.
- Supervise student workers. Provide support, feedback, and training as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director and/or Assistant Director of Operations.
- Strictly adheres to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner.
- Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU's Christian model and Mission - Training Champions for Christ.
This position supervises a small team of student workers.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree (preferably in marketing, communications, digital media, or a related field).
- 2+ years of industry experience.
- Portfolio of print and/or digital materials that demonstrate proficiency in videography, social media management, graphic design, and photography.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud (Premier Pro, After Effects, Lightroom, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign).
- Strong video editing skills, including audio adjustments, color correction, and adding graphics, captions, and special effects as needed.
- Detail-oriented with strong communication skills.
- Able to work collaboratively as a team member and cultivate positive working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Able to work well under pressure, independently manage multiple tasks and projects with competing priorities and deadlines, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced working environment.
- Project management experience preferred.
Communication and Comprehension
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing to convey clear, well articulated information.
- Ability to understand, speak, and write English in order to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.
- Possess public communication skills that allow professional representation of Liberty University.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Intuitively able to reason, analyze information and events, and apply judgment in order to solve problems of both a routine and complex nature.
- Regularly required to sit to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.
- Regularly required to hear and speak in order to effectively communicate orally.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the campus.
- Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business.
- Regularly lift 30 or fewer pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work Environment
The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled setting. It is well lit, and the noise level is moderate. Working environment may include facilitation of events outdoors occasionally.
Driving Requirements
If the employee is required to travel in performing the duties and responsibilities of the position, the use of one's personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) may be required for travel. Proof of a valid driver's license, an acceptable DMV record, LU Driving Approval, and liability insurance is required when driving in the performance of the employee's position.
