Provide a short description of the Position:
  • Senior Web Developer (Drupal) providing Development Support and updates.
Provide a list of the day-to-day tasks to be performed by the Selected Candidate:
  • The candidate will ensure that all Drupal websites that are developed and delivered are usable, functionally accessible, responsively designed, and compliant with NYS standards and best practices.
  • The candidate will utilize an Enterprise Platform solution (Drupal) to accomplish its mission, leveraging current technologies and industry best practices as applicable to improve its service delivery.
  • Senior Web Developer will develop Drupal theming, custom functionality, module development, Frontend, and/or backend development.
  • Utilize PHP, Javascript/jQuery, and HTML/CSS/Twig templating.
Required Technical Skills:

Drupal Development (Experience with Drupal 8/9/10)
  • Theming, module development, and site building
  • Knowledge of Drupal APIs, Hooks, and Custom module development
Frontend Development
  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery
  • Twig templating
  • Responsive design principles
Backend Development
  • PHP development for custom Drupal functionality
  • Database management (MySQL, MariaDB, or PostgreSQL)
  • Experience with Drupal's Entity API and Form API
Performance Optimization & Security
  • Knowledge of Drupal caching mechanisms
  • Understanding of OWASP security best practices for web applications
Version Control & Deployment
  • Git (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket)
  • CI/CD pipelines for Drupal
CMS Best Practices
  • Experience working with Enterprise Drupal Platforms
  • Compliance with NYS standards and best practices
Preferred Skills (Good to Have):
  • Experience with Acquia or Pantheon hosting platforms
  • Familiarity with Headless Drupal (decoupled frontend frameworks like React, Vue, or Angular)
  • Experience integrating Drupal with third-party APIs
  • Understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies
  • Experience with Drupal migrations (upgrading from older versions)
Soft Skills:
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to ensure accessibility and usability compliance
