My well known national bank client is looking for a contract Communications Specialist- 40 hours a week, $38/hr, would be a 12 month contract. This will be hybrid in Richmond, VA.
The Total Rewards & HR Services Marketing & Associate Experience team is seeking a Communications Specialist. Benefits, Compensation and HR Services play a critical role in ensuring our associates can thrive at work and in life. This role will initially be dedicated to supporting Total Rewards and HR Services’ communications work for the Discover integration. This individual will thrive in a fast-paced, strategic environment and work closely with peers and stakeholders at all levels, the Total Rewards Team and the Discover integration team to create on-brand communications and marketing materials that drive associate engagement with, and understanding of, our benefits, compensation & HR Services programs.
Responsibilities for the role include:
- Writing engaging, on-brand associate-facing communications across various channels to help new associates understand and make the most of their Capital One Total Rewards products and offerings as they transition from Discover offerings to Capital One programs. Comms will include emails, print and digital marketing materials, as well as content on intranet and other digital communication platforms that support Total Rewards and HR Services.
- Providing strategic thought partnership for our Total Rewards and HR Services product owners and Discover integration leads, as well as collecting appropriate data and program information that will support the education of Discover employees.
- Autonomously creating and managing communication plans while bringing key stakeholders along.
- Editing and refining both written and visual communications to ensure a consistent look, feel and tone across all Total Rewards and HR Services communications.
- Creating visual consistency in communications through the use of approved brand guidelines, including templates, fonts, brand colors, etc.
- Working effectively with stakeholders on the Capital One Total Rewards and HR Services team as well as the Discover integration team to gain appropriate review and sign-offs.
- Reviewing marketing materials and offerings from vendors to support understanding and a smooth transition from Discover programs to Capital One offerings.
- Measuring performance of communications based on key metrics and recommend refinement to communications strategies, messaging and channels/forums.
- Working closely with our Discover-focused delivery lead to build timelines, ensuring timely delivery of our education strategy.
- Serving as an active member of the Discover integration community.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or military experience
- At least 4 years of experience in marketing, communications, journalism, advertising or in another writing field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s in Communications or related field
- At least 2 years of experience with Google Suite, email marketing platforms (Vessel or LumApps intranet)
- At least 2 years of experience in a communications role within Capital One or another Fortune 500 company
- At least 2 years of experience marketing HR, Benefits, Compensation, Total Rewards or other similar programs.
