Director - Strategic Communication $63,668 - $80,116; commensurate with experience Job Summary/Basic Function The Director of Strategic Communication will support the Office of the University Provost and the broader Academic Affairs community to ensure consistency with messages and communication-related processes across academic units. Responsible for providing coordination and professional development opportunities for strategic communication coordinators, specialists, managers and directors from the academic colleges, International Affairs, and Undergraduate Enrollment. (Please note that this is not a supervisory role). Act as a liaison with other university divisions to encourage academic unit involvement across the university (i.e., athletic events, student organizations). Manage webpages for the Provost's Office and ensure that academic content meets specified standards across academic units. Create and edit press releases, slides for presentations, scripts, and talking points for the Provost’s Office. Create content, design, and distribute Provost’s Office newsletter; compile Academic Affairs items for President’s newsletters and other university platforms. Act as the project manager to oversee the planning and promotion of Provost’s Office initiatives (i.e., forums, faculty appreciation) not already managed by the coordinator for academic and strategic initiatives. Act as an administrator for the Academic Affairs listserv, setting up standards and practices for how it is best utilized. Contribute to Provost’s Enrollment Task Force, commencement committee, strategic planning committee, and similar working groups as needed. The position works in collaboration with the Vice President and University Marketing and Communications department to ensure actions and initiatives are in sync with broader university goals and directives and that the college is connected with the division’s resources and opportunities. Required Education Master's degree in communication, digital media, event management, project management, journalism, marketing, or related field. Bachelor's degree can serve in lieu of master's degree with an additional two (2) years direct experience in a corporate, non-profit, or similar environment. Required Related Experience Five (5) years of communication, event management, or project management experience in a professional work environment. Documents Needed to Apply
